That's the one I got and it's been invaluable. It's the real one GM uses at the dealership. It runs in a virtual machine on your winXP or greater PC so I think that's how they get around the GM key thing.

I've run it in XP and Win7 64bit without any issues. I'm wondering if the one I linked is the same guy I ordered from in fact. It's a different ebay user ID but looking at the old email I got when I bought it they were both from Minnesota and I remember the original listing also having a yellow GTO pictured. That's the one I got and it's been invaluable.

I can't look at ebay from work, but I bought a CD off ebay that the seller stated was the exact same CD version published by GM and used in dealerships. It is simply a CD version (runs in a web browser when opened) of the printed manual. Other than being a little clunky to navigate within, it is a good manual. It has some useful illustrations and lots of good tips and torque ratings in both Newton/meters and pounds/feet. It looks legit to me and has helped me a number of times already and I've had it less than a year. The paper copies of the manuals are expensive. I paid $25 for the Australian Commodore repair manual.
Its like our Chilton manual and has all the specs. The only differences are the gas tank and body trim illustrations which are of course different from the GTO. I found it on line.
With shipping from ozzie land, it cost about $35 USD. I would not give Helms, read as in GM, a couple of hundred for anything.
The commodore repair manual is good, however the pictures are mostly of the commodore and not of the highest quality. Much like a Haynes, you get brief descriptions and a few dark images scattered here and there. It does have lots of specs.
Which is very helpful. When considering the fleabay CD versions - keep in mind that these are copyrighted documents and you are, if not outright breaking the law, you are enabling someone else (the seller) to break the law. That's why the original CD versions are so difficult to get a hold of, too easy to pirate them.
No big deal you say? Get off your high horse and shut up? Yeah, OK - but if we all did the right thing and didn't support the guys breaking the law by reprinting copyrighted material - those materials would not have to be so expensive for the rest of us.
