Hyundai Santa Fe Repair Manual Airbag Removal
I am on Fire today, posting three in a role. I need to remove the front pillar (A pillar) to organize the power line for the dashboard recorder. It doesn't say an air bag, so I thought it does not have an air bag inside, but it does! I need to get the cord behind it, so I have to remove the plastic cover from the pillar, but there is no screw nor any sign on the surface of plastic indicating the access to the screw.

Should I force to remove it? Anyone did this before, please let me know. Have you ever messed with an air bag before?
A friend of mine did. Got a broken nose and a messed up warranty. Its like digging in your yard without know where water and power lines are located. A look in your owners manual will show the location of the air bags. I'm sure you can do it safely but 'forcing it' might be a big problem.

Sensors are along the bumpers and side mounted in the b-pillar area's.) in order to remove this plastic cover, its held on by clips so grab a hold of it - and YANK. But dont yank enough to crack a small section of it.
When you are tucking your wires, make sure its done so with the airbag in consideration. Mind you the things come flying out with enough force to rip most wires - its still a good idea to be mindful of not interrupting even a split second of deployment. Only reason why I want to remove this cover is to have the wire run behind the airbag, so it doesn't interrupt, if it deploys. Thank you for the tip. There is a special attachment that secures the plastic cover to the A pillar. It is designed to stop the cover being blown into the car when the airbag is deployed. If you force the cover off then you MUST NOT refit it.

Put on gloves to protect your hands. When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage. Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces to protect from marring the surface.
Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the front pillar trim (A). Install in the reverse order of removal. Replace any damaged clips. Do not listen to this. You can safely remove the A-Pillar trim, the airbag is bolted on the frame and will not come with the trim.
