In the 5th Gen model forums, there's a thread on the FSM for the 2015 model year. @ posted instructions that work on a Mac and Linux in. He had a script attached to the post with a shell script and a cookie file. I've made a couple of changes to the script, with comments about getting other model years, and specifically 2017. My other change is regarding how you get your session cookie once you're logged into the Subaru TechInfo website.

There might be other ways, but this is how I found it in Chrome. Don't close the window where you're logged into Subaru Techinfo.

Click on the three vertical dots on the far right upper corner. Select 'Settings'. Scroll down to Show Advanced Settings at the bottom. The page will expand to show more information. Privacy is the first section to show up below where you were. Click on 'Content Settings'. A popup window will come up.

Select 'All Cookies and Site Data'. Type 'techinfo' in the Search Cookies field. Click on 'techinfo.subaru.com, then click on 'JSESSIONID' Copy the long string next to the 'Content:' field. Put that into the cookie file where I have PUTYOURSESSIONCOOKIEHERE.

Save the file. Then, follow the rest of @ instructions.

I did have some problems with loss of connection (part of the reason I put in loop count info while you're waiting an hour to start downloading 50 more files) more than once, but I was easily able to get all 1275! Files related to a 2017 in less than 48 hours. If that happens to you, edit the SFSM.sh file, and change the 'start' variable to pickup where you left off. I hope you find this useful.
